In this week’s Scientist Highlights, we feature Monica Diaz, MD, who became a San Diego Resource Center for advancing Alzheimer’s Research in Minority Seniors (ARMS) RCMAR Scientist in 2019. Dr. Diaz is a post-doctoral fellow at University of California, San Diego who is board certified in Neurology and specializes in neurological complications of HIV and neuroimmunology. Her research interests include effects of HIV-associated co-infections on neurocognitive impairment, ethnic health disparities of HIV-associated neurocognitive impairment in the U.S., and the overlap of HIV and Alzheimer’s Disease.
