In this week’s Scientist Highlights, we feature Mateo Farina, PhD, who became a USC-AD RCMAR Scientist in 2021. Dr. Farina’s RCMAR pilot project is “Using DNA Methylation Markers to Understand Black-White Disparities in Cognitive Health”. His research interests include life course origins of dementia risk, examining black-white disparities in health, assess in health life expectancies across demographic and geographic groups, and has recently completed some work on disease trends. His current work focuses on incorporating biomarker information into population-based assessments of cognitive status classification.
