Dr. Kamitaki is an assistant professor of neurology at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS). He was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i and completed his undergraduate studies at Pomona College. He then attended the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine for his MD degree. Dr. Kamitaki completed his neurology residency and two-year clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy fellowship at NYP-Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. Since joining RWJMS in 2018, Dr. Kamitaki has received funding from the American Epilepsy Society and the New Jersey Health Foundation to identify ways to improve access to comprehensive epilepsy care. He also serves as the co-director for the Health Equity Thread at RWJMS.
