University of California, San Francisco
Dr. Santoyo-Olsson is a T32 postdoctoral research fellow in the Division of Geriatrics at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Her research aims to improve linguistically and culturally competent support services to underserved populations living with chronic conditions and their caregivers. As a proud Mexican who grew up in California’s agriculture region, she has seen the challenges that older adults face when aging in place. She has a strong foundation in designing, evaluating, and disseminating community-engaged interventions aimed at improving the well-being of underserved older adults from 15 years as a research analyst at UCSF. Her research also focuses on enhancing methodological approaches for use with diverse populations related to health outcomes, the effectiveness of recruitment and retention methods, and developing health measures. Her current research focuses on improving end-of-life supports for underserved populations with dementia and their caregivers. Dr. Santoyo-Olsson completed her DrPH at the University of California Berkeley School of Public Health and MS in epidemiology at the Brown University School of Public Health.
