Jennifer Kwok, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Policy and Administration at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health. Dr. Kwok conducts policy-relevant health economics research on access to and the provision of care, including caregiving for older adults with cognitive impairments/difficulties and the roles of providers in healthcare. She uses methods from economics with large datasets, including healthcare claims data, hospital discharge data, and national survey data. Dr. Kwok is a RCMAR Scientist with the UIC Center for Health Equity in Cognitive Aging (CHECA). Her RCMAR pilot project is titled “Understanding Caregiving for Individuals Living With or at Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias” Prior to joining UIC, Dr. Kwok received Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical-Biological Engineering and Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. She also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Aging and Health Research at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
