The Stanford Aging and Ethnogeriatrics Research Center (SAGE) RCMAR is announcing their availability of pilot project awards. Applications are due Friday, January 14, 2022 at 5:00 PM PT.

The SAGE Center aims to 1) strengthen and diversify the aging research workforce by mentoring new and junior researchers to become independent, culturally sensitive, and culturally competent researchers engages in transdisciplinary integrative research in ethnogeriatrics and 2) promote research advances using emerging methodologies that are focused on improving the health and well-being of diverse older adults. To that end, SAGE is seeking applications from researchers that are new to aging research and propose to conduct a mentored research project using emerging methodologies (such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other big data techniques, and precision medicine approaches) to answer key questions in the aging arena.

SAGE expects to fund 3 awards (up to $30,000 each), and the funding period is for 1 year. Awardees will be distinguished by NIA/NIH as “RCMAR Scientists” and be invited to special conferences and training opportunities offered by the National Institute on Aging.
