Center for Aging in Diverse Communities: Ending Health Inequities in Older Adults (CADC)
University of California, San Francisco
For over two decades, the Center for Aging in Diverse Communities (CADC) at the University of California San Francisco has been successfully delivering a robust mentoring and training program and providing a culture of equity and inclusion for early career researchers from diverse backgrounds who will enhance the aging-research workforce. CADC’s multidisciplinary faculty have the experience and expertise to train and mentor this next generation of researchers focused on aging-related health disparities. We combine the broad diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area with an affiliation with UC Merced in the Central Valley, top-notch underrepresented investigators who represent that diversity and are building research careers in aging health disparities, a multidisciplinary environment with clinical, community, social, behavioral, epidemiological, cognitive neuroscience, qualitative, and quantitative scientists providing mentoring and training, and our many community partners. Through our website we provide resources for health disparities researchers focused on career development, research methods, conducting community and clinical intervention studies, and developing self-report measures.
