Dr. Jennifer Adrissi is a movement disorders neurologist and health services researcher at UCLA, focused on improving care, access, and outcomes in Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other neurodegenerative disorders. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland and her M.D. from Northwestern University. Dr. Adrissi completed her Neurology residency and Movement Disorders fellowship at Northwestern, and she also obtained a Master’s in Clinical Research from the Medical University of South Carolina. As a fellow, she joined the prestigious American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Training in Research for Academic Neurologists to Sustain Careers and Enhance the Numbers of Diverse Scholars (AAN TRANSCENDS) Program. She was also an NIH Neuro-NEXT fellow for clinical trial development. Now an Assistant Professor of Neurology at UCLA, her clinical expertise centers on PD and atypical parkinsonism syndromes. Her research utilizes community-based approaches to improve access to specialized care and clinical trials for historically marginalized groups, particularly within the Black community. She is also the founder and director of the Parkinson’s C.O.R.E. Collaborative, a program aimed at enhancing PD resources and support through community-building, outreach, research, and education.
