CHIME, at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA), contributes to mitigating health disparities for for African American and Latino elders by developing minority investigators and arming them with the needed research skills to develop, implement, and evaluate community and health system partnered interventions in communities with the greatest health needs.

Call for Pilot

The UCLA RCMAR/CHIME and UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) announce their call for pilot proposals request for applications. Support will be given to pilot research projects that are consistent with the goal of RCMAR/CHIME. Ideally, pilot projects should demonstrate effective inter-institutional and/or academic-community partnerships and lead to the publication of at least one authored, peer-reviewed manuscript plus subsequent funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), particularly the National Institute on Aging (NIA).

The application deadline is 12pm noon, Monday, December 6, 2021.

Applicants must submit an online application on the RCMAR/CHIME website and upload the required supporting documents by Monday, December 7, 2020. Selected applicants will be asked to submit a full proposal in February 2021. (View RFA for information on required documents.) Applicants whose proposals are selected for funding will be notified around April 2021. The award will be disbursed after July 1, 2021.
