Overview

This NIA/RCMAR webinar on November 2, Access to Care and Improved Outcomes for Diverse Populations With Cognitive Impairments looked at individual, provider, and systems factors that result in disparities of access and outcomes for people with dementia. It will also included issues from the research agenda that resulted from the 2018 and 2020 Dementia Care Summit. It focused on the research needs in diverse communities on access to dementia care, the role of informal care in formal care, and community-level interventions that can improve the diagnosis, treatment, and support of diverse elders with Alzheimer’s.

Learning Objectives

• To understand individual, provider, and systems factors that result in disparities of access and outcomes for diverse populations with AD/ADRD
• To learn about ways to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and support of diverse older adults with Alzheimer’s disease
• To be aware of the NIH’s priority issues and research agenda that have emerged from their Dementia Care Summits
