Columbia Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Alzheimer’s Disease Disparities – (CIRAD)

Columbia University Health Sciences

CIRAD, at Columbia University, provides mentoring, training, pilot funding, and interdisciplinary collaboration to investigators from under-represented backgrounds in ADRD research, and will accelerate innovative research on the mechanisms of ADRD disparities. The focus is on the biological, behavioral, sociocultural, and environmental mechanisms of ADRD disparities, including risk and resilience factors, biomarkers, and caregiving.

Call for Pilot

The Columbia Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Alzheimer’s Disease Disparities (CIRAD), a National Institute on Aging funded Alzheimer’s Disease-related Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (AD-RCMAR), is soliciting applications for it’s pilot project program.

Postdoctoral scientists/fellows and early-career researchers in ADRD are encouraged to apply. Additionally established mid-career scientists who would like to leverage the pilot funds to transition into ADRD-relevant research may also apply. Projects may include primary data collection and/or secondary data analysis, and may leverage ADRD-related projects taking place at Columbia University Irving Medical Center or in New York City. Scientists should complete the pilot projects within 12 months of the award with a budget of up to $50,000 for investigators from Columbia University, and $35,000 for investigators outside of CU. CIRAD will accept at least 3 applications for the 2021-2011 academic year.

Please email Jessica Idumonyi, joi2102@nullcumc.columbia.edu to obtain an application packet or if you have questions regarding questions about eligibility. The deadline to submit is February 8, 2021.
