The Deep South RCMAR advances the fields of minority aging and health disparities by recruiting investigators from under-represented backgrounds, providing education in aging and health disparities research, guiding career development through collaborative mentoring, and sustaining progress to successful, independent research careers in order to reduce the disparities between African American and White older adults in the Deep South. The Deep South RCMAR is administered by the University of Alabama at Birmingham in collaboration with the Morehouse School of Medicine, Tuskegee University, and the University of Alabama
