In this week’s Scientist Highlights, we feature Jonathan H. Chen, MD, PhD, who became a SAGE Scientist in 2021. Dr. Chen’s RCMAR pilot project is “Prediction of specialty diagnostic procedures for patients with cognitive impairment diseases using deep representation learning of electronic health records”. Dr. Chen leads a research group that seeks to empower individuals with the collective experience of the many, combining human and artificial intelligence approaches that will deliver better care than either can do alone. Dr. Chen continues to practice medicine for the concrete rewards of caring for real people and to inspire this research focused discovering and distributing the latent knowledge embedded in clinical data.
